Marjorie Elaine Sherwood was born on March 17, 1954, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Gwendolyn Bernard and Felix Gayle. She was the last of 6 siblings to her mother. Born on St. Patrick’s Day, it seemed only fitting that her favorite color would become green - a color that reflected the vibrant spirit, resilience, and hope that defined her life. She lived authentically and unapologetically. Funny, spirited, outspoken and wonderfully sassy, her candid honesty left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She permanently settled back in the United States in 1991, where she continued to build a life centered on faith, family, and friends. She loved deeply, gave generously, and celebrated every milestone alongside those she loved.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and an adoring great- grandmother whose greatest accomplishments were measured not in possessions, but in the generations she nurtured. Marjorie was also a fighter, throughout her illness, she pressed forward with courage, faith, and an unwavering love for her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Gwendolyn Bernard; her sisters, Pearline "Tiny" and Merline; and her brother, David. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, George Sherwood, three children: Georgia, George Wayne (Ingrid), Sean, and adopted son Steve Mason-Thompson. She was the proud grandmother of Krystle Green (Xavier), George Ivan, Angela, Elaina, Tamya, Lionel, Raven, and her chosen Grandchildren Michael and Chy-Chy, Olimata, Christine, Maggie, and Riley, her beloved great-grandchildren, Lennox and Roman Green. Her siblings, Lloyd (Flora), Lurline, and Heather. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, Ms. Pat, Dawn, and Blake Family, Channer Family, Forbes Family, GFT Family and dear friends to name a few, Verona, Lorraine, Elaine and Christine, and especially sisters-in-love Marcia, Lois, Diane, Marion, Pam, and Joan, and a brother-in-love Neville. Though her earthly journey has ended, the lessons she taught, her belief in the “Apostle’s Creed”, the faith she modeled, and the love she poured into others will continue to live on for generations to come. “Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
