Joy-Ann Elizabeth Stewart was born on October 23rd, 1962. She was born at Georgetown Hospital to Sheila Richards and Aldophus Montgomery Stewart. She had eighteen brothers and sisters. Joy Ann attended Grove Primary school. She moved on to attend Guymine Trade School in Linden, Guyana. She started her working career in Guyana, where she worked for the Textile MilL Joy'Ann's desire progress at an early age, led her as a youth to be a part of a youth group that supported the People's National Congress political party in Guyana.
Joy-Ann was described by some of her siblings as quiet, attentive, and thoughtful when she was a child. However, she grew into a beautiful, vibrant, and humorous; a woman full of joy. She grew into a woman of virtue, that was loved dearly, and she enjoyed decorating. Joy'ann was a fun-loving person, she enjoyed playing many different types of games, whether outdoor or indoor especially board games. Some of Joy'Ann's hobbies includes, reading, cooking, decorating and going to the movies: she looked forward to attending the Movies with her family. On April 11th, 1985. She migrated to Trinidad and tobado. On April 27th, 1987. Joy'Ann gave birth to Joel Alex Keegan. Sadly, three months later, her baby boy passed away. On November 29th, 1989 Joy'Ann gave birth to Whitney Olivia, who was her only child and she loved her dearly.
In Trinidad and Tobago, Joyann attended classes and became a certified tutor at the Adult Literacy Tutors Association. Joy'Ann's love for cooking and baking. prompted her to attended a pastry classes to develop her talenting. She completed cake decorating classes at the Crystal Stream Lifelong Learning Center, where she received her certification in cake decoration. To enhance her decorating skills, Joy'Ann completed two certificate courses in interior decorating, at the John Donaldson Technical Institute.Jay'Ann decorated many cakes, and catered for her clients. During the Christmas holidays, she would bake cakes and pastries for friends and family, through her home catering business. She is acclaimed by her daughter Whitney as the best cook that ever lived! Joy'Ann was a love and commitment to the LORD, led her to be baptized on September 6th, 1997. She use her gift and talent as she served at Woodbrook Pentecosal Church in Trinidad, on the beautification committee. Joy'Ann was a woman of prayer and faith. Everyone she encountered she had a word of encouragement, a bible verse, or a prayed for them if needed.
On May 6th, 2008, Joyann migrated to the United States with her daughter Whitney.Joy'Ann's determination to succeed led her to register in a Nursing Assistant course.She completed her Certifification Nursing Assistant course, and began working at Sacred Heart Nursing Home. Then, she moved on to work as a Patient Care Technician at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Because of compassionate heart she began working at the Children's National Hospital a full-time position Washington Hospital Center after being there for more than 10 years.
Joy Ann is survived by her daughter Whitney Olivia Norgriff, brothers and sisters The late Elsa Woodroffe, Cedric Richards, Patrick Richards, the late, Ivan Richards, Boston Richards, Mavis Gilbert, the late Veronica Boyce-Stewart, Geraldine Bonita Stewart, Jennifer Stewart, Andrea Stewart, Beverly Stewart-Baker. Allison Stewart, Eustace Stewart, Maurice Stewart, Terrence Stewart, Wesley Stewart, Mark Stewart, Lester Stewart.Cousins: Joycelyn Gordon, Shelly Mars, Joseph Hodge, Annette Hodge, Joseph Henry, Sandy Stewart, Sharon Stewart, Shelly Stewart, Bobs Stewart, Desire Stewart, and many other cousins too numerous to mention. Nieces, nephews. great-nieces an great-nephews too numerous to mention. Joy ann had many wonderful friends.Joy'Ann was loved and will be greatly missed by everyone.
